Special Rate Variation Partially Endorsed

The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) has partially endorsed a Special Rate Variation (SRV) proposed by Goulburn Mulwaree Council. IPART have approved year one of the application being an increase of 22.5%, however have declined the increases for years two and three.

“Council is thankful to IPART for considering our application, however we are extremely disappointed at the outcome. This reduction in revenue will have significant impacts on our capital and service delivery to the community. Council acknowledges the challenges ahead and is committed to finding alternative solutions to maintain the quality of services provided to meet our Legislative requirements.” Said Mayor Peter Walker.

“Council will now also prepare a revised four-year Budget, to save additional costs to cover the short fall of the partially approved SRV application.” Mayor Walker continued.
