Goulburn Mulwaree Council is proud to announce the launch of its next 'Call Before You Clear' campaign, aimed at further protecting threatened biodiversity in the Goulburn Mulwaree Local Government Area. This initiative encourages residents and landholders to seek the necessary approvals from the relevant agency before undertaking any activities that may impact our regions precious natural environment, including our unique vegetation communities, ecosystems and threatened plants or animals.
The campaign features a comprehensive guide detailing activities that can cause harm to threatened biodiversity, the applicable approval processes, and information aimed at educating the community on the importance of biodiversity conservation. The resource also details where further information can be obtained and how to report non-compliance with the aim of ensuring that activities are carried out responsibly and sustainably and that apporiate action can be taken where offences are commited.
Protecting our environment is crucial for future generations and preserving our regions unique and valuable natural resources. By raising awareness, educating stakeholders, engaging the community and providing easy to understand resources, Goulburn Mulwaree Council aims to foster a culture of conservation and responsible land use.
“Protecting our local biodiversity is a shared responsibility,” said Goulburn Mulwaree Council Business Manager Environment & Health, Sarah Ainsworth. “We urge everyone to engage with this campaign and contribute to the preservation of our unique ecosystems for future generations.” For more information, please visit: www.goulburn.nsw.gov.au/Development/Environment-Heritage/Call-Before-You-Clear or Contact Council on: council@goulburn.nsw.gov.au 02 4823 4444.
