Urban & Fringe Housing Strategy
Council considered and included two amendments to this strategy. The strategy identifies opportunities for an additional 3,500 dwellings across Goulburn & Marulan which are expected to be required through until 2036. The strategy will now come back to Council for adoption at the meeting on 21st July 2020.
59-61 Hovell Street, Goulburn
Council endorsed a planning proposal to rezone this land to R1 General Residential with a minimum alotment size of 1000m2. It will now be forwarded to the Department of Planning and Environment for making. Council also endorsed in principle the layout of a 30 lot subdivision on the site.
2021 Youth Conference
Goulburn will host the 2021 Youth Conference from 17-19 September 2021. Council allocated $25,000 to sponsor the event including booking fees for any Council venue to be used for the event.
2020 Steampunk Victoriana Fair.
The 2020 Steampunk Victoriaina Fair will not proceed in light of the COVID-19 restrictions, with the budget to be transferred to an Events Reserve for use towards the 2021 event or an alternate event at the Goulburn Historic Waterworks.
Financial Assistance
Council will support Rotary Club of Goulburn for the 2020 Southern Tablelands Science & Engineering Challenge with a cash contribution of $3000.
Council will also make a cash donation of $2,479 to the Bungonia & District Historical Society for their project to install a plaque at the Bungonia Cemetery.
Council Hardship Policy and COVID-10
Council’s Hardship Policy was amended to allow businesses or residents who can demonstrate an income decrease in the first half of 2020 to apply to pay their rates and charges over an extended period. For more information please view the updates in the minutes or on Council’s website.
