St Clair Conservation Works

Council accepted a tender from Longstone Pty Ltd for stage one conservation works at the St Clair Villa Museum & Archives. The scope includes new roof, guttering and downpipes, asbestos removal, new kitchenette and bathroom in the coach house and wall, floor, ceiling, window and door repairs throughout the building.

Mayoral Minute – Goulburn Post

Mayor Kirk on behalf of Council will make a public statement of support for an ongoing paper edition of the Goulburn Post, and seek support of local Federal and State MP’s on a joint statement. 

COVID 19 Update

Council will keep all sporting facilities and other Council facilities closed until State Government lift restrictions. Council will also write to Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman expressing concern over the recently announced stimulus package which has no benefit to Council, and includes significant increases in the Emergency Services Levy ($856,000 over 4 years) which should be additional to and not incorporated into the IPART determined rate-cap.

New Police Station

Council authorised the Mayor and GM to enter in discussions on options for a new Police Station in Goulburn with the NSW Police. Results of this will be reported back to Council with detailed information.

 Reallocation of Capital Works Budget

Council approved transfer of $112,760 from the 2020/21 capital budget to this year’s financial year to allow for preliminary investigation works to be undertaken on nine projects. 

Delayed 2019/20 Projects effected by COVID-19

Council approved reallocations from the 2019/20 Capital Works Program to the 2020/21 year for Fitzroy Street drainage, works on Collector Road and Mountain Ash Road.

 Naming of Goulburn Basketball Stadium

Council renamed the basketball arena at the Recreation Area the “Ross Whittaker Basketball Stadium.”
