Goulburn Waste Management Centre Announces Staged Opening Of The New Facility.jpg

The Goulburn Waste Management Centre, known as ‘Re-Use Goulburn,’ will commence a phased opening of the new facility starting with its Resource Recovery Centre (RRC).  This will start with a four-week trial period from September 16, 2024.

This trial will allow staff to work through the new processes with the public, with full implementation for all users scheduled to start from 16 October, 2024.

Residents will be directed to the new facility to separate and dispose of their waste. Staff will be on hand to advise and assist with separation of recoverable products with the remainder of waste going into a bin for disposal.

The new process will mean residents will no longer have to attend the tip face to dispose of waste. Commercial quantities of waste will still be directed to the landfill for disposal.

Residents will now have the convenience of being able to source separate materials, reducing the quantity of waste going to landfill and increasing what can be recovered as recyclable product all within a new undercover modern facility.

Staff will be able to assist and guide users through the new system. Council kindly requests the community’s patience and understanding during the initial transition period, as staff are also in the process of learning and refining the new systems in place.

Looking ahead, the Community Recycling Centre (CRC) is expected to open late October, with the Re-Use Centre planned to open in 2025.
