Upgrade of sporting amenities locked in
On Tuesday evening council awarded the contraction for construction of new amenities for North Park and the Goulburn Regional Hockey Facility in the second half of 2022, to local contractor ARW Multigroup.
At North Park the project will be focused on demolition of old facilities and the construction of a new pavilion which will include a canteen, meeting room, four change rooms, referee room, public toilets and storage and associated infrastructure.
A new amenities building will be built on the western side of the Hockey Complex, including four change rooms, referee rooms, a hockey shop and other areas. The existing building at the hockey fields will also be refurbished.
Council alongside the hockey community and Junior Rugby League have worked hard to tap into grant funding, and then achieve an affordable outcome for these important projects. The facilities at North Park will be of great benefit to all users of those sporting fields, and our hockey complex will now be able to hold national standard tournaments.

Additional funding of $832,828 is being sourced from the general unrestricted cash reserve to deliver the project.
Goulburn Art Award
The Goulburn Art Award is now open at our Art Gallery, and is a stunning exhibition of works, all created by artists living within 120km of Goulburn. The Award represents the talent and diversity of artists working within the region.
This year Emma Beer won prestigious annual prize from a field of 69 finalists, for her acrylic on canvas painting, titled The Luxury of Not Having it Set in Stone. Saskia Morris won the prize for highly commended, for her work Care Construction.
Year 12 Goulburn student Nolan O’Flynn won the 2022 Young Artist Award, for an acrylic and mixable oil panting on canvas, titled Man.
It is an amazing exhibition of the talent within our region, and is open until 18th June 2022.
Carrick Road Bridge update
We have had some frustrations with the wet weather, causing delays to the Carrick Road Bridge upgrade. The conditions have pushed back projects for our contractor, having a knock on effect on the Carrick Road Bridge which is understandably disappointing for residents.
Contractors are back on site this week, and we estimate there is around 6 weeks of work to undertake to complete the project. The majority of this is in earthworks, to bring the road up to the existing height of the new bridge. Council is at this stage targeting completion in early July.
