Pool and skate park opening dates confirmed

Opening of the outdoor pool at the Goulburn Aquatic & Leisure Centre for the summer season has been confirmed for Monday 12th October. Goulburn Skate Park will open from this Saturday 3rd October, with a complete wash down of the park to occur on Friday.
The opening was delayed in mid-September, and the skate park also closed, due to the uncovering of materials containing asbestos during demolition of the indoor pool. Council staff will need a week to prepare the quality of the water in the Outdoor Pool, ensuring it is ready for use.
Mayor Bob Kirk thanked the community for their patience during the clean-up of the site.
“I know many of our residents were looking forward to getting back in the outdoor pool and were disappointed by the delay, but I am pleased we were able to get this important phase of the clean-up completed safely.”
“The outdoor pool will now remain open throughout the summer as we move into the next phase of clean-up prior to the start of construction of the new facility.”
Temporary site amenities have been put in place on site including a site office, reception area, male, female and disabled toilets along with change rooms. Entry to the outdoor pool will be located in the existing northern car park.
