More parks or more parking? More public art, or greener streets? Dog parks or kids playgrounds? Have your say on the future of Goulburn Mulwaree, for the chance to win a $100 shopping voucher.

The largest social research project in Australian history, the 2021 Australian Liveability Census, is underway now – and Goulburn Mulwaree Council is encouraging residents to have a say.

After a year where our local neighbourhoods were more important than ever, it is the perfect time to understand what would make them better for you.

“In Goulburn Mulwaree we have put a big focus on liveability with a number of our recent projects, including the river walkway network, Aquatic Centre Redevelopment and the CBD beautification projects” said Mayor Bob Kirk.

“This census is a really good opportunity for our community to have a say on a national level, but then from this we will be able to draw out information submitted by our residents into a report focused on the region. This will be valuable for the next group of Councillors to be elected in September in planning for the future.”

Place Score, who are undertaking the census, state that findings will capture community values and measure neighbourhood performance across the country. This data can then be used by governments of all levels to direct positive change in all local areas.

The 2021 Australian Liveability Census is open now, and will close on Wednesday 30th June. On average the survey takes 15 minutes, and it can only be done online at www.placescore.org/dc

Place Score has received funding from the Federal Government to assist with coordination of the project, through the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources.
