Thirty residents welcomed as Australian Citizens

On Tuesday morning thirty residents were welcomed as new Australian Citizens in a ceremony conducted by Mayor Bob Kirk in the Council Chambers.
Mayor Kirk was joined by Deputy Mayor Peter Walker to present certificates to the citizens who come from a range of countries including India, the Netherlands, Philippines, Brazil, China, Pakistan, Iraq and South Africa.
“We have hosted a number of Citizenship Ceremonies with large numbers this year, which is wonderful for the Goulburn Mulwaree community’ said Mayor Kirk.
“The next one will be held on Australia Day in January, with around fifty resident expected to take the oath or pledge on the day, which is always a great occasion.”
Following the ceremony the new citizens along with family and friends enjoyed morning tea with Mayor Bob Kirk and Deputy Mayor Peter Walker.
