Updates to recycling in our community

Council has been notified by Endeavour Industries that they are no longer available to undertake the communities recycling.  As the community is aware, Endeavour Industries employ staff that are more vulnerable than most and the risk factor to them is far greater than other employees in the workforce; they also sort all of the communities’ recycling by hand which increases the risk even further.

Today Council and Endeavour Industries have reached an agreement to indefinitely suspend the contract to process recyclable material and thus Council is now looking at alternate options.

Goulburn Mulwaree Council believes it is critical that we continue to maximise the reuse and recycle of material collected from the community. We are confident of being able to transport our recycling material to another external provider, until Endeavour Industries are able to recommence the contractual arrangements.

Council is absolutely committed to the continuation of kerb side recycling collection and thus the community will not see any difference to their collection service.  Endeavour recycling in Sinclair Street will be closed, Council will still be accepting recycling products at all Waste Management Centres.

We are very appreciative of the relationship with Endeavour Industries and it is paramount to Council that their disabled staff that are at high risk are protected from the COVID-19 virus.

A reminder that Council has made the following changes to operating hours at our Waste Management Centres as of Thursday April 2nd in response to COVID-19:

  • Tarago Waste Management Centre will only be open from 8am to 11am on Thursday and Saturday mornings only. This arrangement will start on Thursday 2 April.
  • Marulan Waste Management Centre will only be open from 12.30pm to 4pm on Thursday and Saturday afternoons only. This arrangement will start on Thursday 2 April.
  • Goulburn Waste Management Centre will only be open to the public on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8am to 2pm.
